Euphorbia trigona ‘Rubra’ is a cultivated variety of E. trigona with tinges of beautiful burgundy-red in the leaves and stems that become more pronounced in bright light. Its candelabra growth habit resembles that of a cactus, except for the small leaves that emerge on the ridges. Segments are easy to propagate, but sharp thorns and skin-irritating sap mean this plant should be handled with care.
Care of Euphorbia trigona ‘Rubra’: Full sun to partial shade, temp 40 to 100 degrees, generally grows to about 6 ft tall indoors but can grow much larger, allow to get dry between watering.
