Aquilegia canadensis has red-orange and yellow flowers with moderate spurs over lacy blue-green foliage. An airy looking plant, it is lovely scattered amongst other perennials. Aquilegia canadensis may be short-lived, but readily self-sows.
Also known as Eastern Red Columbine, this perennial is native to the eastern two-thirds of North America.
Aquilegia canadensis, or Native Columbine, prefers light shade and well-drained soil, but will tolerate full sun with sufficient moisture.It is reputed to be less susceptible to leaf miner than other Columbine.
