A hearty forged hand fork for digging
In the USA, the standard kit of hand tools includes a trowel, a 3-tine cultivator, and a fishtail weeder. In merry old England it’s a trowel, a dibble and a 3-tine fork. Our three tine fork is a stout one with tines of 7/16 inch diameter steel hammered and ground to a spear point. The head measures about 4 inches wide (about an inch wider than most.) with 5 inch-long tines (all measurements are approximate – every tool is hand made and will have variation). All three points are in about the same plane so you can easily work along a straight line if necessary.
